Trick or Treat~2013 HALLOWEEN~ by xadako Trick or Treat~2013 HALLOWEEN~ by xadako
**edit: submitting a newer and edited version after deleting the old one**

Happy Halloween everyone!

It's actually November 1st, 1:13 a.m. by the time I'm writing this,
it might be a bit late, but for those who are still in Halloween spirit,
I'm going to say it again... HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

So, last year I drew PPGxRRB to celebrate Halloween with you all,
and this year I present Link and Zelda "Trick or Treat!"
yeah, don't forget to drop by candies and sweets~ waaaai~

Zelda is a bit different you say? Yes, of course, because I decided to draw bangs for her (; v; )
and as for Link, he's a bit different because his hair is covered by that hoodie o3o
By the way, I tried to draw Link and Zelda from the games [Twilight Princess] here.
I see that most of you (especially Zelink fans) love my latest art I'm Home, Welcome Home., so I hope you will come to like this one too.
Thankies~

Actually I want to submit this for TheLinkLovers's contest.
The deadline is today (or tomorrow) and.. yeah, totally a close-call! hahaha...

They, as in the characters presented above?
It's Link and Zelda from the games "Legend of Zelda"
it's very famous, compatible to even FF, KH, and Pokemon! hahahahaa XD one of my best games ever~~
thanks~ and don't worry for being late 8DDD

Wow. That's nice. I sure would like to look for it some time. :D

Their eyes look so blank and lifeless. I don't know if that was the effect you were going for when you did this picture, but it works very nicely with the Halloween theme. It makes them look like they're dead in a way. But then I look at Link's face and see the creepy little smirk on his face and my brain conjures up a whole bunch of other scenarios. Maybe he's the one who's alive, but has control over a mindless Princess Zelda? And there goes my weird imagination again...

Anyway, as usual, I love the colors and I love the designs for the clothes and I love the clothes themselves. For this type of drawing, they're very fitting for Link and Zelda. Who knew a hoodie would look so good on Link? It's almost like Hyrule became modern and less of a medieval era.

I'm going to point out a few other things I really like and then shut up and stop rambling on. :D

I love the web around Zelda's neck - it's a very nice effect indeed. It's like a choker all on its own. And the hair bows in her hair. They add an interesting finish to her hair and the rest of her style.

Nicely done. ^^

yup! good job again on guessing my artwork >v<*
I wanted to try coloring eyes that way, and it turns out well so far.. and I thought that adding the 'white-circle-of-eyes' (what do you call it? I dunno :p)
would be unnecessary~ anyhow, drawing a blank eyes is my forte afterall hahaha 8DDDD
lol, it's nice to have creative and sometimes, out-of-the-box imagination,
that way you always have some story to write right? ^^ and you even realised the cob-web thingy! aww you have a really good eyes *w*

Haha, thank you. :D

Yeah, adding the whites of the eyes would have been a little unnecessary. I think they're absolutely perfect the way they are. You're portraying the two in a completely unique way that fits for them in that type of situation. Heck, if I knew a lot more about Zelda than I do of Kingdom Hearts, I would actually write a story based around their looks alone. I bet it would be creepy and disturbing though as my mind tends to take vacations and go sadistic on me from time to time. XD

But yes, I agree your forte is drawing cool and creepy eyes... and providing nice light colors. ^^

It is nice. It makes life a little less dull. But yes, it always allows for a setup for a story of some sort. :D

I think it's a subconscious thing I learned from an old social studies teacher back in grade 8 or 9. He instructed everyone in the class to look at the pictures that were on the pages in the text book for at least a minute and then asked us what we got out of it... mainly because we were an unruly bunch and flailing trying to find better ways to teach us. :D But yeah, I'll give him the credit for paying attention to detail when it comes to looking at pictures.

Hahaha, I think you can just do some research, or play the game,
and I'm sure you would find it ineresting to write about them! XD XD XD
It's kinda creative and imaginative to write down a story based on this art only, when you never played the game before :d

Subconscious? wow I wonder if my teacher would let students do that here XD
The only thing they did is to say a sentence and tell us to write (continue) the story based on that one sentence only. :d
Or maybe something like "what do you get on this film?" -- based on the topic of today's lesson.

This is true. But if I really like something and plan to play it later, I probably won't be doing a lot of research. However, I need to look at realistically as well. If I haven't played it five years after it's been out, am I really going to play it later? Probably not. So maybe sometime I'll look into writing a Zelda fanfiction. I know it's interesting to read Zelda fanfictions, so it would be plenty interesting to write them. :D

I would consider that a challenge that I'd totally do if I wasn't still experiencing writer's block.

I don't see why not. It's just learning how to analyze pictures in textbooks easier, which in turn makes it easier to understand what's going on and to study. Nod

Gah. Visuals are essential though! Some people use audio, visual, or hands-on for learning, while others learn with all three. I still think being given an opportunity to examine something for a moment is very useful. Perhaps you could suggest it to your teachers?

It's not like I'm playing all of zelda games although I'm really into the series.
well, obviously not like FF or KH, which I play all the series available :d
but by seeing the summary, fanfics, fanlisting and other stuffs, I can imagine what happened in the games, and
it saved me a lot of time than to play the games XD XD I'd like to play it if I could though :d

agree~ agree~ :3
I'd try to write down a suggestion for my literature teacher then! ahahahaha XD
